A special discussion regarding the ‘Shasanaloka Vesak Zone’, which is scheduled to be held centering around the Katharagama sacred grounds in commemoration of the 2570th Sambuddha Jayanthi (Vesak), was held today at the Ruhunu Maha Katharagama Devalaya premises.
This Vesak Zone has been organized under the guidance of the Maha Sangha, led by the Chief Sanghanayaka of Ruhunu Magampattuva and Chief Incumbent of the Kiriwehera Rajamaha Viharaya, Venerable Kobawaka Dhamminda Nayaka Thero, and the Chief Judicial Sanghanayaka of Ruhunu Magampattuva and Chief Incumbent of the Katharagama Sri Abhinavaramaya, Venerable Kapugama Saranatissa Nayaka Thero.
The Vesak Zone is scheduled to be held for three days, from May 29th, 30th, and 31st, as a collaborative effort by the Katharagama Pradeshiya Sabha, the Ruhunu Maha Katharagama Devalaya, the Ekamuthu Traders Association, and all government and non-governmental organizations in the area.
The official media coverage and communication duties for this Vesak Zone will be carried out by the Media Unit of the Ruhunu Maha Katharagama Devalaya.
