● Construction of new entrance wall across the Menik River near Bridge No. 2 ● Paving the Kiri Vehera ‘sala pathala maluwa’ (compound) with granite ● Construction of embankments for the conservation of the banks of the Menik River ● Renovation of entrance pathways to the devalaya by laying down pebbles ● Renovation of the paths leading to the city from Bridge No. 2 by laying down pebbles along the paths ● Renovation of head office ● Transformation of the devalaya lands into a botanical garden ● Preparation of a site to facilitate the serving of food for those who contribute to the devalaya’s Muruthan puja as well as special guests ● Tree planting programme undertaken using the root ball method ● Preparation of forest garden in front of Bridge No. 1 ● Laying down pebbles along the entrance paths to Kiri Vehera ● Allocation of venue for nighttime shows for tourists ● Setting up a new lighting system within the devalaya grounds ● Paving of walking areas of the devalaya with granite ● Improving toilet facilities for visiting pilgrims ● Transparent tax collection from lands belonging to the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Devalaya and provision of leases
